What is teeth whitening?
Tooth whitening can be a very effective way of lightening the natural colour of your teeth without removing any of the tooth surface. The active ingredient in the product is Hydrogen Peroxide or Carbamide Peroxide. As the active ingredient is broken down, oxygen gets into the enamel on the teeth and the tooth colour is made lighter.

What are the types of whitening?
Home whitening
You will need 2 appointments with us. At the first appointment, we take impressions of your teeth. At the second appointment, we give you your tray which fits over your teeth like a mouthguard and the whitening gel. You then apply the gel over your teeth, using the tray overnight for 2 -3 weeks. It will lighten the teeth by approximately 2 Vita shades.
Enlighten Whitening
Enlighten guarantee that with their whitening system, teeth will whiten beyond any other product. They guarantee Vita shade B1 (which is the lightest shade possible for natural teeth) for every patient and long lasting whitening results with low sensitivity.
This system combines surgery time and home whitening.
Please note that whitening will not lighten the shade of existing crowns or fillings so if you have these on your front teeth, they may need replacing to match the shade of your whiter teeth.
