What is a veneer?

A veneer is a wafer thin, custom-made shell bonded to the surface of the tooth.

What are the benefits of a Veneer?

Veneers can fix teeth that are discoloured, worn down, misaligned or have gaps between them. With veneers you can choose the shade and shape of teeth that best suits your smile.

They are made in a dental laboratory from ceramic and are bonded to the tooth using new generation adhesive techniques in the surgery. As veneers can be less than 1mm in thickness, they need minimal preparation of the tooth so no anaesthesia is required. With veneers in place, patients can expect an improved smile with straighter, whiter, and more even looking teeth

We use Ivoclar Emax ceramics which has fast become ‘the material’ of choice for beautiful natural looking dental restorations. As Emax veneers are a densely pressed ceramic they are impermeable to staining and will not discolour over time The superior strength of Emax Veneers means they can be expected to last for many years, possibly even life. Should small chips occur these can be repaired or, if necessary, a new veneer fitted.
